Auburn University began offering aviation administration courses in the 1920s, flight education in the early 1940s as part of the Civilian Pilot Training Program, and today offers undergraduate degrees in Aviation Management and Professional Flight, and outreach programs for youth and working adults. Auburn University aviation facilities include the Auburn University Regional Airport and Delta Air Lines Aviation Education Building, both conveniently located about 2.5 miles from the main university campus in downtown Auburn.
